BCN Plant Scout Privacy Policy

BCN Plant Scout is a Base Camp North field record app for plant photos, GPS points, return notes, and synced plant observations.
Information the app stores
- Account sign-in information handled by Supabase Auth.
- Plant observation details entered by the user.
- Photos added to observations.
- GPS coordinates when the user allows location access.
- Sync status and app record metadata needed to keep records organized.
How information is used
The information is used to save plant scouting records, sync records to the private web dashboard, support return trips, and help Base Camp North keep nursery and seed-source notes organized.
Plant identification
When you choose to identify a plant from a photo, the selected photo may be sent to the plant-identification provider used by BCN Plant Scout, currently Pl@ntNet, so identification suggestions can be returned. This only happens when you use the identification feature and is separate from saving or syncing your BCN Plant Scout records.
Account deletion
In the BCN Plant Scout app, open Account / Sync and choose Delete Account and Cloud Data. The app deletes your BCN Plant Scout account, cloud-synced plant observations, and cloud photos.
